Rhaetian Railway and the Bernina Express
About Rhaetian Railway and the Bernina Express
The Rhaetian Railway runs the trains of Graubünden, among them the Bernina Express. Its Albula and Bernina lines, between Thusis and Tirano, have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. The Bernina line climbs from St Moritz to Ospizio Bernina, 2,253 metres up, the highest point of the network, then spirals down past glaciers and lakes into Italy at Tirano.
